Analytics overview

How many hours did you spend, where did they go, and how much was billable.

The Analytics page summarizes your hours and billable amounts for a selected period. It shows totals, a trend chart, top groups, biggest movers against the previous period, and utilization.

Pick a period

The period picker at the top defaults to this month. You can switch to any of:

  • Today / yesterday
  • This week / last week
  • This month / last month
  • This quarter / last quarter
  • This year
  • Last 7, 30, or 90 days
  • A specific month, quarter, or year (2026-04, 2026-Q2, 2026)
  • A custom date range

See Time periods for the full list.

Group by

You can group the summary two ways:

  • By client. One row per client, with totals across all of their projects.
  • By project. One row per project. Useful when you want to see which work types are eating your week.

The grouping doesn't change which entries are included, only how they're rolled up.

Billable vs. non-billable

Each row shows three numbers:

  • Hours. Total hours, billable + non-billable.
  • Billable hours. Just the billable ones.
  • Billable amount. What those billable hours are worth.

If you have multiple currencies in scope, the Billable amount column shows one row per currency. There's no grand total across currencies. See Multi-currency clients.

Filtering

Above the table you'll find filters for:

  • Client / project. Restrict the summary to one client or project.
  • Billable. Toggle to billable-only or non-billable-only views.
  • Source. Show time created from the web app, CLI, or MCP agents.

All filters compose. Analytics updates live as you change them.

The web Analytics page currently groups by client or project. Use the REST API or CLI when you need raw entry exports or tag-level filtering.

Previous-period comparison

Hourdini automatically compares the selected period to the immediately prior period. For example, this month compares to last month, and a custom 14-day range compares to the 14 days before it.

The KPI row and Top movers card use that comparison to show what changed.
